The library as one of the vital organs of the academic body plays a crucial role in the development of collegiate education through its multidisciplinary operational activities.Bharathi college library was established in the year 1970 along with the college with 147 books of various subjects and few general magazines were subscribed. The library is housed in a separate wing with an independent Reference Section.
The college was admitted under grant in aid scheme in the year 1970 and the year 1970 and funds were received to develop the library in future.The library of the college is housed in “Gandhi Bhavana”. The “Gandhi Bhavana” was constructed to commemorate 50 years of Indian independence. Gandhi Bhavana measures 8055 sqft [45 X 179feet]. 300 students can be accommodated at a time. The Library has been provided good furniture. Because of frequent power cuts, a stand by ups and generator is also in use.Our library presents the pictorial view of “MahathmaGandhiji’s Life”. Around the library photographs by collecting unique collection.
Library has huge collection of books and reference i.e., for UG 38,711 books with 19,312 titles and PG has 2848 books with 1,341 titles. Subscribed journals and magazines are 55, newspaper of all languages is 14.
It also provides Book Bank facility and Inter – library borrowing system. To promote reading habits and extensive use of library, special cash prizes are awarded to students. The library is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday and from 8.30 am to 2.00 pm on Saturday.
