Today Bharathi Education Trust is the proud founder of over fifteen institutions with over fifteen thousand students in different academic institutions under its tutelage. Bharathi college is one of the few examples of an institution growing up to amazing stature in the field of education in so short a period as 50 years despite all limitations as a rural set up amid poverty and illiteracy. It is the crowning glory of Mandya district with highly equipped infrastructural facilities like buildings, spacious class rooms, state of the art Laboratories, Botanical garden, Museum and Hostels for men and women, staff quarters and over 18 departments in various branches of study.

It has set new milestones in the progression of the district with an ambience for studies not only science, but also Humanities Commerce and Management along with various job oriented courses. The college has earned the reputation as "Mari Manasagangothri" or a Mini University campus with its ever progressing records of academic excellence and several ongoing extra-curricular activities. In the last five years the institution has witnessed tremendous growth by taking up numerous initiatives to catch up to meet with the growing needs of academia in India Today. Bharathi College is the first rural college in Karnataka to get 'A' grade accreditation by NAAC. In the last five years it has started 8 PG courses and established 3 research centers. The college publishes an "International Research Journal on Applied Sciences" and "Shodha Bharathi" a quarterly devoted to research articles in Kannada literature.

The admission and examination systems have been fully automated. The library is fully automated with INFLIBNET and multimedia system and subscriptions to e-journals. The classrooms are furnished with facilities like smart boards and LCD projectors. A new Commerce wing and PG block have been constructed. New courses in Journalism and optional English have been introduced. Spoken English classes, Personality Development classes are conducted to provide new competencies. The number of faculty members with Doctoral Degrees has increased from 5 to 20 and M.Phil holders are 20 in number as against 10 five years ago. The Research publications of the college have reached 130. It is a matter of pride that many of our professors have been recognized as Research Guides by many prestigious Universities.

The NSS, NCC and the Eco-club have stretched out through milestones and state level awards. Our NSS unit bagged the Best Unit and Best Programme Officers Award in 2012-13. The NCC Officer bagged the Chief Ministers Best NCC officer Award in 2012-13. The laboratories have been fully updated with the liberal assistance provided by Karnataka Science and Technology department. The number of student scholarships has increased matching the growing strength of the college. The practice of senior teachers generously contributing to endowment scholarship is perhaps the rarest phenomenon worthy of emulation. All these despite competition from new Government First Grade colleges with very low fees. The vision is to produce a unique higher education centre with autonomy and demonstrate that a rural college with the right human resource and support from governments can reach higher level of prestige and status in its pursuit of excellence in higher education and thus become a heaven light for other centers of higher learning in rural India.
