Department of sociology has its own historical background in Bharathi college. The role of our department in providing value-Education to the present society is appreciable. Our department has started in 1971-72 with the course of HES. From 45 years it has been giving opportunities to the students to study sociology and it has maintained its superiority by giving good teaching of the syllabus, which has been attiring in accordance with the changing society.
The department has been improving the students’ knowledge through conducting seminars, quiz, Fieldwork, Test, Assignment the students are benefited by their activities.
Sociology students are getting good job opportunity in the present society they are selecting to job through the competitive exams like KAS, B.Ed., FDA, SDA, PDO, RDO, SW0, NGO, MSW, MA, KSRTC, COUNCILLOR ,etc..
Our department has been honouring the merit students with scholarship every year. Our students are doing higher education highest marks with PG CET .like this department has been responding to the social problems by not only giving educations to the students but also awakening human values in them.
