The department of history is like the” Mother of Humanities” ,started in 1971-72 and the department has adorned onerous position in Bahrarthi college through its creative activities.
The department has completed its 45 years of long life in the college. still it is successfully running with good teaching and teaching method like models, maps ,field works, tour to historical places ,seminars ,test, quiz, assignments, group discussion and now it has recently included PPT, technical based teaching as an effective method.
Along with good teaching it has also been giving importance to the welfare of the students it has been supporting the students by giving valuable guidance to face the competitive exams like IAS,KAS,PDO,PSI,FDA,SDA etc
To create more interest in the students about history, the department is illuminating light on the historical background of native temples, courts ,towers, inscriptions etc
In the year 2014-15 the department conducted PG entrance exam coaching classes for the sake of the students and the students uphold the honour of the college by getting “ 1st rank” and “9th rank” in history to the whole university of mysuru.
The departments work is not only limited to the syllabus and extra co-curricular activates but also to the welfare of society by creating awareness to the students about human values, ideals, principles of the great leaders of a nation.
