About Commerce Department

It was established in the academic year 2010-11 successfully completed ONE DECADE of value education for rural students. The Department has qualified & experienced teaching faculty team. The course was taught with LCD projector, seminars, article reviews, case study, LTP and group discussions. Constantly department is organizing industrial visits, special lecture series, year wise conference/seminar/workshop. Department setup with Commerce Lab and Internal Department Library with more than 220 reference and Subscribed 14 journals/magazines. In addition, institution is providing blazer facilities for all students.

Department is also motivating to students to participate and present research papers in various events like seminars, workshop, conference and Com-fest conducted by other colleges. Every year students will allot for 15to20 days to MOU companies for internship programme. Department regularly conducting PGCET classes for final year B.Com/BBA students to admit PG courses.

Commerce Lab

A Commerce lab for the benefit of staff and students has been initiated at the college. It’s a regular activity conducted to students and they also participate with great interest. The Lab Activities helps the students to know more about the field of Commerce and also keep them updated with recent practices in the business world. Commerce Lab provides practical exposure of the processes and procedures followed by organizations in conducting commercial practices. Charts, Models, Magazines prepared by students are displayed for the benefit of all. The Lab is also used for interaction with the peers from other institutes. Students also participate in group discussions, interviews, presentations, etc. arranged here from time to time.

We offered two specialization papers for 3rdsem students i.e., Business Taxation and Management Accounting with full furnished facilities like Faculties, Reference and Resource materials

Student's Achievements:

A student of Pilot batch (2010-11) Miss.Bhavana.M.S has secured First place in the University of MysoreJune/July 2012 examination and awarded “Smt.Bhagyalakshmi Rattehally Ramappa Gold Medal” for the highest marks in Management Accounting paper.
Mr. VINODA B S, (2011-12 batch)has cleared NET (National Eligibility Test) on NET-JUNE 2014 examination conducted UGC.
Mr.Raghu & Mr.Govindraju, (2011-12 batch) has cleared KSET-2015 conducted by University of Mysore.
